Glenwood Cemetery

OK - before we get too far, let me ask - - Is it just too wierd that my last post was on a Senior Citizen living center and now I am visiting a cemetery ? The two shoots are not related at all, I promise !!!!

Glenwood Cemetery has been on my list of photo ops for a while, so my photo friend Sharon and I went, originally thinking we would get started at sunrise, but NOOOOOOOO, that was NOT going to happen. It was a chilly morning and we might have gotten some great shots, but we came to our senses the night before and determined that sleep was more important.

Very interesting and picturesque place full of unique details. I have a new 50mm 1.8 lens and wanted to play with it a little. The tree in the first shot is actually on the national register for famous trees or something like that.

Give me your comments, love to hear.

CHRISTMAS AT SILVERADO

Another photoshoot at Silverado Senior Living Center on Saturday. Again, no family or residents photos posted here.
The families gathered for their Christmas dinner. Grandchildren, Children, Spouses, Siblings, Friends, Volunteers and Staff. A bevy of activity and lots and lots of love. The staff is so compassionate and gentle - very gratifying to witness. Everyone seemed to have fun. Santa arrived to entertain the children (young and old) and hand out gifts..... Residents sang along with piano music. Good food. Lots of energy. Christmas decorations everywhere. They really make it feel like home at this place.
Thanks to Jeff, Jackie, Pam, Sharon and Teresa fellow photogs for coming on board with the entire event. Nice to share this with all of you. With much thought, I realize two very important things:
  • I realize that doing an event like this, well, it just changes you.
  • Since this is MY BLOG, I don't have to be politically correct. I get to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone.
This little girl was the cuuuuuuuuuutest in her little santa outfit. She was smitten with the two resident doggies, feeding them was great fun for her
The hands of time

Rusty, resident doggie

One of the several christmas trees

Ruby and Rusty were a little ticked off having to wear the 'ribbons' around their necks. I assured them I didn't do it.....

One of the many birds at Silverado ..... lots of birds ...... and they have fish and bunnies too.

decorations all over the place - very festive and home like

... Lest we forget ...

My hats off to all of volunteers and staff that made the day a memorable event

P.S. Happy birthday to my daughter in law momma-to-be Hollye, can't wait to see you guys at Christmas

WILDLIFE CRITTERS

What pretty eyes you have :
Nothing major to report, so thought I would browse through some old photos and see what 'spoke' to me (photos can do that right ? ) I am not really a 'wildlife' photographer, as It is not my cup of tea to go sit in a photo blind somewhere slathered up with bug spray and wiping sweat off my brow to keep it from dripping in my eyes to get wildlife shots ...... noooooooooooo, that's not for me. I will however grab the 'convenient shots'. OK , enough gibberish, just sit back and enjoy the show of the shots I did get. Take a look at their eyes. They are all adorable.
LOOK AT THIS LITTLE CUTIE PIE .... Bad hair day or not ?
I am guessing you know what this is - scroll down to see the 'owner'
This little creature was about 40 feet away from where Luci BainesJohnson was talking to the crowd at the LBJ Ranch. Can you just picture it, I am over there photographing a freaking spider and everyone else is over there open jawed gawking and photographing Luci. Oh my, don't tell anyone. Obsessive nerdy.

This little guy was in my garden, that's nice he waited while I got the camera

No special message with this posting - just hope you enjoyed the images.

Awesome Critters

OK EVERYBODY ..... I felt it would be cruel and unusual punishment to make you wait too long to see some photos, I know if they were mine, I would want to see them. So here are a few teaser shots from Saturday's session. I was very pleased with the results and I hope you will be too. I had ohhhh soooo much fun with everybody and all the critters. Truly a nice group of people. In addition to all the doggies, it was nice to see a few kitties there too, not to mention some of the others that stole the show. Big dogs, small dogs, black dogs, grey or white, gold or multi, hyper, happy and BUSY dogs (we won't name names) ........What a hoot everybody! Thanks for making it a memorable experience for me. I can't wait to finish processing all the photos. Until then, enjoy.

MY FIRST SHOT

Then on to the serious stuff

Do you think the animal welfare people should be called on Liz and Walter ? After all, there is something just NOT RIGHT with what they are doing to their animals here, do you catch my drift?

Alright - back to normalcy ...
